Can You Solve the Singapore High School Math Problem That Is Stumping the Internet?

It's testing season throughout much of America as students sit through countless hours of controversial exams over the next few weeks. But if you thought Common Core math was mind-numbing, wait until you see what students in Singapore are facing. A math problem found on a test for 14-year-olds in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad last week is not only stumping students there, it's stumping the entire Internet.

The question was shared by Kenneth Kong — a television host in Singapore — on his Facebook page. It reads:

Now the Internet community, and math-proficient high school students throughout Singapore, want to know when Cheryl's birthday is. But the organizers of the test are none too happy. Students are not allowed to take phones into their exams, so the test creators are miffed that one of their questions leaked. The exam, which is given in 15 countries, hasn't been administered in Cambodia yet, so they plan to replace the leaked question with a new one.
