On 1 Day a Year, This School Goes Above and Beyond to Re-Create the Magic of Harry Potter

In Canada, a Catholic K-12 school has been gloriously re-creating the magic and whimsy of Harry Potter for over a decade. St. Bonaventure's College, in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, inaugurated its annual Harry Potter Day in 2002 — just a year after the film release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

The school's debut Harry Potter day, however, consisted of watching the movie and playing some related board games. Now, educators have made it an extraordinary day filled with broom flying lessons, floating candles, and even a wand shop.

A local CBC News affiliate recently toured the school on its spellbinding day and learned more about the administrators who make it so special. Look ahead for an inside look that'll leave you wanting to enroll immediately.
