Stitch Fix Brings Online Personal Styling to Expectant Moms Everywhere

Expectant mamas who are having a hard time figuring out how to dress their bump have a new ally to help them through nine months of maternity dressing. Stitch Fix, the online personal styling service, is adding maternity services to its portfolio starting today.

The maternity service works the same way the traditional one does, by having women fill out a style profile and then matching them with one of the company's 1,000 stylists located across the country. Each month, subscribers receive a box — called a "Fix" — with five items tailored to their specifications for a $20 styling fee. If they keep any of the items, the $20 fee is applied to the cost of the item. If they keep all five of the items, they receive a 25 percent discount on the total cost.

"We are always looking for ways to serve our clients better, and the addition of maternity and petites is a natural extension of our existing personal styling service," said Stitch Fix founder and CEO Katrina Lake.

For women who don't have access to maternity boutiques or are finding themselves lost in a world of elastic-waist pants and billowing tops, the service sounds ideal. No more fidgeting with pillow baby bumps in a dimly lit dressing room; instead, get a head-to-toe outfit delivered to your door. Plus, once baby arrives, your stylist probably will probably have a few postpartum ideas for you to help you move beyond the yoga pants!
