This Storks Movie Clip Might Look All Too Real to Sleep-Deprived Parents

Most animated movies are pretty far removed from reality. There are usually talking animals, the characters typically burst into song at random moments, and the evil villains (because there's always an evil villain) often come with superpowers.

None of this is to say that Storks, the new animated flick hitting theaters Sept. 23, is a grippingly realistic docudrama . . . there are coparenting wolves and a talking bird in the first 10 seconds of the trailer. But, man, does this movie look viscerally relatable.

Case in point, this exclusive clip features a girl and said talking stork trying to put a newborn baby to sleep.

It's as if the exchange between the two exhausted "parents" was gleaned from hacking into real-life baby monitors. (For what it's worth, my husband and I had that exact sleep-deprived "I can't believe you went to bed!" / "You just said it was OK for me to go to bed!" argument about 4,973 times in the first month of our baby's life.)

Enjoy! Or . . . try to?
