See the Shocking Surveillance Video That Caused a Special-Education Teacher to Resign

Parents should feel safe dropping their children off at school every day — especially parents of children with special needs — so when Sarah Patterson dropped her 4-year-old son off at school last Thursday, she was not expecting to see a surveillance video of his teacher harming him later that day.

Amelia Stripling, 71, worked as a special-education teacher within the Tift County School District in Georgia for over 20 years, but this video showing her thrusting her knee into a 4-year-old's back, sending him flying through a door, has caused her to resign from her position at Tift County Pre-K Center. Though the young boy with special needs wasn't injured, the district reported the incident to the Division of Family and Children Services.

Stripling turned herself in to the police after a warrant for her arrest was issued and has been charged with second degree cruelty to a child. See the shocking surveillance video above.
