In Just 5 Tweets, Elizabeth Warren Gave Us Hope Following Jeff Sessions's Confirmation

Senator Elizabeth Warren isn't afraid to show the world that she's not too fond of Jeff Sessions. Prior to his official confirmation as our new attorney general, Warren went to great lengths to convince her fellow senators that he's unfit for the position. After being silenced by a Republican colleague while reading a powerful 1986 letter by Coretta Scott King, she clapped back by reading the letter in full right outside the Senate chamber — and broadcasting the moment on Facebook Live.

Now that Sessions has officially been granted the AG position, Warren's demonstrating how she's not planning to back down anytime soon. Upon hearing the news of Sessions's confirmation, the Democratic senator used social media to express her dissatisfaction, tweeting: "Deeply disappointed that the Senate confirmed an AG whose record does not show he will faithfully & fairly enforce the law."

This spurred a mini Twitter rant in which Warren fired off five extremely powerful messages for her followers. She began by referencing the rule used against her on the Senate floor and explaining why she refuses to hold back her thoughts on Sessions.

There's no Rule 19 to silence me from talking about Jeff Sessions anymore. So let me say loudly & clearly: This is just the beginning.

She went on to warn of what's in store for Sessions if he doesn't fulfill his duties as attorney general.

If Jeff Sessions turns a blind eye while @realDonaldTrump violates the Constitution or breaks the law, he'll hear from all of us.

And she brought up his prior history of racism . . .

If Jeff Sessions makes even the tiniest attempt to bring his racism, sexism & bigotry into @TheJusticeDept, he'll hear from all of us.

. . . along with a warning for every senator who cast a vote in Sessions's favor.

And you better believe every Senator who voted to put Jeff Sessions's radical hatred into @TheJusticeDept will hear from all of us, too.

Warren ended with three succinct yet incredibly strong sentences.

Consider this MY warning: We won't be silent. We will speak out. And we WILL persist.

This woman means business, and we're applauding her resilience and persistence. Warren 2020, am I right?
