You Have to See Billy Bush's Co-Workers Address His Suspension From the Today Show

After audio of Donald Trump boasting about sexually assaulting women with Billy Bush leaked online Friday, NBC suspended the anchor from the Today show indefinitely. On Monday morning, Bush's cohosts addressed his suspension in such an inconsequential way, many people wondered if they even cared.

Al Roker and Tamron Hall acknowledged his absence after the program entered its 9 a.m. hour segment on Monday morning. Without detailing Bush's scandal, Roker said, "As you can see, Billy Bush is not joining us today, as you're probably aware."

Roker continued to recognize Bush's suspension with as much distance as possible, saying it was "part of that 2005 Access Hollywood taping with Donald Trump that's been in the news all weekend." Roker, you might remember, got in an on-air spat with Bush over how he handled an interview with Ryan Lochte in which the swimmer repeatedly lied. Roker also suggested that Bush was too sympathetic to Lochte.

Hall did not offer much to the conversation either. She said, "NBC, which owns Access Hollywood, has suspended Billy for his role in that conversation." Similarly, Savannah Guthrie's remarks were pretty much a word-for-word repetition of Hall's when she commented on Bush's suspension earlier in the show.

While Bush has apologized for the incident, many people believe he should be fired from the Today show.
