Guess Who Melania Trump Blames in Her First Interview Since the Trump Tape Leaked?

Melania Trump appeared on Anderson Cooper's CNN show Monday night to discuss the infamous tape of her husband degrading women on a hot mic, and the interview shed light on who Melania blames for her husband's remarks. Spoiler alert: it's not Trump himself.

Despite leading the conversation and admitting to "grabbing women by the p*ssy," Trump is off the hook — at least in his wife's opinion. When Melania first heard the video, she said she told her husband that "the language was inappropriate. It's not acceptable." She told Cooper she was surprised by it "because that is not the man that I know."

Melania has a theory as to why her husband spoke the way he did: Billy Bush and the Access Hollywood crew knew their mics were hot and encouraged Trump's disturbing commentary. "And as you can see from the tape, the cameras were not on, it was only a mic. And I wonder if they even knew that the mic was on," Melania told Cooper. She added, "He was led on, like, egged on from the host to say dirty and bad stuff."

Later in the interview, Melania said she believed her husband, who has denied the accusations coming from several women who say he forced himself on them. "Did they ever check the background of these women? They don't have any facts," Melania said. "People come out saying lies and not true stuff." Asked what she wanted the American people to know about Trump, she answered, "My husband is kind and he would never do that" and said that "everything was organized" by the opposition, including the media and Hillary Clinton, in order to make Trump look bad.

Echoing Trump's repeated "locker room banter" justification, Melania also excused his remarks as "boy talk." Her interview raises more questions than answers — if a man running for president cannot stand up to a TV host's "boy talk," how could he possibly stand up to world leaders?
