JetBlue Is Offering Commercial Flights to Cuba For the First Time in 50 Years — and They're $99!

Starting Fall 2016, JetBlue will be offering nonstop flights to Cuba. The routes will be from Fort Lauderdale, FL, to the cities of Camagüey, Holguín, or Santa Clara. The airline has also applied to fly to and from Havana; they're waiting on a decision from the Department of Transportation.

What's even better? JetBlue just announced that the tickets are now on sale for flights starting next month. The prices begin at $99 — pretty affordable! You can be on a plane to Cuba as early as Aug. 31.

This news is especially historic since commercial flights haven't been allowed from the United States to Cuba in 50 years. One thing to remember when booking your trip is that you'll be required to state your reason for travel — this is in accordance with the Cuban Assets Control Regulations. Some of the reasons you may state include family visits, official business of the US government, journalistic activity, educational activities, religious activities, public performances, competitions, humanitarian projects, and support for the Cuban people.

Will you be booking a ticket to Cuba? It will be interesting to see how JetBlue's sales will do with this new service.
