Amazon Upgrades the Kindle to a Thinner, Lighter Model

Amazon just made getting an ereader a smarter and practical choice by upgrading the Kindle. The new Kindle design is lighter, is thinner, and lets you store more books with double the memory space.

The Kindle will now come in a white color, as well as with built-in Bluetooth audio that makes it easier for visually impaired people to use it. To use the Bluetooth, pair the Kindle with Bluetooth headphones or speakers and use the VoiceView screen reader to read books.

Another new feature includes the ability to export notes or highlights from a book as a PDF or spreadsheet. The Kindle will still retail for $80 with ads or $100 without. Fan of the Kindle Paperwhite? No new features arrive on that device, except purchasing it in a white version as well.

Ahead, check out photos of the new Kindle. It might be enough to convince you to hold off on buying the Kindle Oasis.
