You've Never Seen Photography Like This Before

You won't look at black lights the same way again after seeing what one photographer has done with them. Instead of leaving black lights to clubs and raves, John Poppleton has used the tool to experiment with painting marvelous landscapes on models and photographing the final image under UV black light.

Poppleton, who first started experimenting with black lights in 2010 to get out of a funk with his work, creates these "bodyscapes" that leave viewers wanting to see more. "With an invisible UV light source (black light) and UV reactive paints, the painting now becomes an actual visible light source that comes to life," he said. While he generally lets his clients choose what they want painted on their bodies, he makes sure it "fits [his] style," which usually means images of nature and space. "As a visually minded person, I've always been fascinated by the beauty of the world around me."

Ahead, see for yourself what incredible images he can paint and photograph on models.
