These Female Scientists Are Reacting to Sexist Comments in the Best Way Possible

In the wake of the sexist remarks made by Nobel laureate Sir Tim Hunt, female scientists continue to post photos of themselves in their "distractingly sexy" work clothes.

The remarks made by Hunt included being in support of single-sex labs because otherwise, women are just too distracting. "Let me tell you about my trouble with girls," Hunt said during a lunch at the World Conference of Science Journalists in South Korea. "Three things happen when they are in the lab: you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them, they cry." Hunt has since resigned as an honorary professor at University College London, as well as from the European Research Council.

Female scientists, who were naturally shocked at such remarks, decided to take to Twitter to express just how ridiculous these statements were by posing in their work outfits with the hashtag, #distractinglysexy. Below are just a few tweets of just how sexy women actually dress in labs.

Still #distractinglysexy at 60! I like working in contaminated marshes, because the salty water disguises my tears! pic.twitter.com/4EnjH9tSZC

Maybe we can all finally learn to stop making sexist remarks about women. After all, who run the world? That's right — women.
