Apple Just Released the Product We'd Never Expect From It: A Hardcover Book

Apple's latest announcement truly caught us by surprise. No, it doesn't have anything to do with a new iPhone, a new MacBook, or even a radically new set of headphones. Instead, the tech company announced the release of a hardcover book filled with 450 gorgeous pictures of the brand's products released over two decades.

Titled Designed by Apple in California, the book is dedicated to Steve Jobs and honors products like the original iMac and even those cute knitted iPod cases. "While this is a design book, it is not about the design team, the creative process, or product development," writes Chief Design Officer Jony Ive in the book's foreword. "It is an objective representation of our work that, ironically, describes who we are. It describes how we work, our values, our preoccupations, and our goals. We have always hoped to be defined by what we do rather than by what we say."

Like many other Apple products, the book isn't cheap. A smaller version costs $199, while the larger copy is priced at $299. Starting Nov. 16, the books will be sold online and in select Apple stores in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the UK, and the US.
