A Photo Hack to Show Your World Cup Pride

Just like the lovely ladies (disclosure: our coworkers) in the above picture repping their "I believe that we will win" spirit for Team USA in the World Cup, you too can "paint" your face to show support for your team of choice. This is Google+ magic paint at work, thankfully, so there's no mess to clean up.

The sports enthusiasts at Google+ are letting users around the world paint their country's flag onto the photographed faces of their friends and themselves. Here's how it works:

  • Share a photo of yourself and up to four friends to Google+ with the hashtag of the country whose flag you want to wear on your face. For the US it's #PaintUSA. Belgium is #PaintBelgium, and so forth. Google+ has all the available hashtags listed here.
  • Wait a few minutes, then check back on your Google+ stream. Voilà, the faces in your picture will be painted with the hashtagged team's flag. The magic of Google.

This effect will be added to your original photo; it's not a copy of the picture. So if you'd like to get back to the original image, you'll have to select More on the photos and Revert to Original. But you wouldn't want to do that with such big games this week!

Explore all the #PaintUSA fun on Google+, and add your own to the mix.
