Facebook Is Coming Together to Help a Cancer Patient in the Cutest Way

Not many dogs are fit to be medical therapy animals, but every dog can help this 16-year-old cancer patient. Arizona teenager Anthony Lyons, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for lymphoblastic leukemia, loves to visit with his hospital's therapy dogs — however, with so many other patients to visit, Anthony's furry friends aren't able to keep him company on a daily basis. Chemotherapy is extremely draining both physically and emotionally, so one of the teen's friends started a Facebook page to ensure that Anthony gets encouragement from his favorite animals every day of his treatment.

The Facebook movement started as an event, inviting people to share pictures of their dogs for Anthony. Over 800,000 people responded to the initial invitation, and when the event was canceled due to unfortunate trolling, many more rose up in its place. Hundreds of thousands of animal-lovers have posted adorable puppy photos, and the teen says they make him incredibly happy. If you're interested in sharing cute snaps of your canine companion, you can post them on this Facebook page or this event page. We can't think of a better way to use social media! Here are just a few of the sweet pictures posted to Anthony's pages; they'll brighten your day as well as his.
