Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter Get a New Look in the Name of Breast Cancer Awareness

Oct. 1 marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation took the occasion to show women that a preventative breast self-examination can be as simple and regular as checking your Facebook. In an ad campaign by the design firm DDB Singapore, the foundation has cleverly redesigned the logos of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to show a hand checking a breast with accompanying text: "Not checking social media updates may not impact your lifestyle. But not doing regular breast self-examinations affects your life and others around you."

An online petition by the Breast Cancer Foundation is asking the social networks to temporarily change their logos for the month of October to the ones in this gallery to help increase attention on how checking off this simple task could save one's life.
