To us, choosing a favorite red carpet is a little bit like choosing a favorite child — we love them all! The Met Gala, however, is close to our hearts, as it brings some of the biggest celebrities together to fête revolutionary hair-and-makeup styles. This year's controversial theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," which highlights the relationship between religion and clothing. The looks outside NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art did not disappoint.

Read on to see it all . . . but be prepared to stop and stare.

Amal Clooney

The evening's host is known for her sleek blowouts, but she threw a fashionable curveball by wearing a ponytail on the red carpet. She paired the updo with a cherry-red lipstick.
