Dakota Johnson's look has long been synonymous with her long brunette hair and eye-grazing fringe. But she's adopted a dramatic transformation for her latest role. Then, earlier this week, TeaTime pictures, the independent entertainment company founded by Johnson and Ro Donnelly, released first-look photos of its upcoming film, "Daddio."

The movie stars Johnson and Sean Penn who embark on an "intimate, intense conversation between two strangers" on a journey home, as per Entertainment Weekly, and the stills show the striking makeover Johnson took on for the project. Transforming her hair into a platinum blond bob, cut to just past her chin, with curtain bangs makes for quite the beauty shakeup.

Before you get too excited about Johnson's blonde era, we did a little digging. She was photographed in April at a screening wearing a plunging suit and sporting her brunette hair, and in January at the Sundance Film Festival in triple denim and, you guessed it, that signature long brunette hairdo. While it is thought "Daddio" was filmed in late 2022, it's likely the hair switch was courtesy of the wig department.

Although if Johnson did decide to shake things up with her hair, the look does suit her. And she'd be in good company if she went for the chop. Jennifer Love Hewitt most recently cut her hair into a bob, and was even given a "bropper" color, and Lily Allen debuted a blond bob at the start of the year. If Johnson was interested in a full-time change, we'd recommend having a browse of french bob inspiration. Just saying.
