Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac made their first public appearance since news of their secret wedding broke when they attended the Gotham Independent Film Awards in NYC on Monday. Scarlett and Romain got married on Oct. 1 in a private ceremony in Montana. However, rumors of their nuptials didn't pop up until Scarlett was spotted wearing what looked like a wedding ring during a fundraising campaign in November. The secret wedding was confirmed on Monday, shortly before Romain and Scarlett attended the award show with a slew of other stars. Despite not confirming the news herself in the press, Scarlett didn't shy away from her newlywed status at the event, as she was reportedly overheard introducing Romain as her "husband" and showing off pictures on her phone to Julianne Moore.
Scarlett was hardly the only big name at the large fete, which is one of the first award shows of the season. Other guests included Jon Hamm, who was spotted goofing off with Michael Keaton; Jake Gyllenhaal; Steve Carell; Meryl Streep; and Tilda Swinton, who caught a case of the giggles from comic Amy Schumer.
