Maroon 5 Follow Travis Scott's Lead, Donate $500,000 to Charity Ahead of Super Bowl

Maroon 5 are using their star power for good ahead of their Super Bowl LIII performance. The band have teamed up with the NFL and Interscope Records and donated $500,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, People reports. "Playing the Super Bowl has been a dream of our band for a long time," Adam Levine said in a statement on Tuesday. "We thank the NFL for the opportunity and also to them, along with Interscope Records, for making this donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters, which will have a major impact for children across the country." The nonprofit organization is one of the oldest and largest youth mentoring programs in the US and falls under the NFL's #InspireChange initiative, which "helps create positive social changes for youth in communities across the country."

Maroon 5's generous contribution comes just a couple of weeks after Travis Scott announced that he had agreed to perform at the Super Bowl on the condition that the NFL would team up with him in making a donation to a charitable cause. The rapper then revealed that he will make a $500,000 donation to the nonprofit organization Dream Corps. "I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in," Travis previously told People. "I know being an artist that it's in my power to inspire . . . I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change."
