Filming on the 25th James Bond movie has begun, which means more and more details about the next installment of the action series have started to trickle out.
At a special launch event held at GoldenEye (author Ian Fleming's former estate in Jamaica) a few months back, we learned that Daniel Craig will return as the MI6 agent, and he'll be bringing plenty of familiar faces along for the ride. In addition to franchise alums like Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, and Ben Whishaw, those rumors of Rami Malek taking up the mantle of Bond villain turned out to be true!
Though the Oscar-winning actor wasn't able to join the cast for the official announcement, he did send a video message, and in true Rami Malek style, it was just a little bit creepy. Fans of Captain Marvel are also in for a treat when they find out who else is coming along for the ride this time around. Oh, and the studio has finally announced the film's title and released the first teaser! Keep reading for everything we know so far about this landmark James Bond movie, ahead.
Previously nicknamed Bond 25, the film will henceforth be titled No Time to Die.
Daniel Craig will don the tuxedo for the fifth time to play James Bond. This is believed by many to be his final film, and we already have an idea who might be following in his footsteps.
Rami Malek has been confirmed to star in No Time to Die! Though his exact character has yet to be announced, his announcement that he "will be making sure that Mr Bond will not be having an easy ride of it" definitely suggests he will be playing Bond's adversary in the movie.
True Detective, Maniac, and Beasts of No Nation director Cary Joji Fukunaga will be at the helm of No Time to Die.
The script for No Time to Die has been a collaborative affair, with full credits comprising Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns with Cary Joji Fukunaga, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The addition of a pass from Waller-Bridge, who is currently enjoying huge success off the back of Killing Eve and Fleabag, is particularly exciting news.
French actress Lea Seydoux will also be back as Dr Madeleine Swann.
Ralph Fiennes will also be back as the latest iteration of James Bond's boss, M.
Ben Whishaw will also be back for a third time as Q.
Bond 25 will mark Rory Kinnear's fourth appearance as Bill Tanner.
Jeffrey Wright will return as CIA operative Felix Leiter, after last being seen in Quantum of Solace.
British actress Lashana Lynch, who recently wowed audiences in Captain Marvel, is joining the cast of Bond 25.
Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas, who starred in Blade Runner 2049, is also confirmed to be joining the cast of Bond 25.
American actor Billy Magnussen will also star in Bond 25.
Swedish-Danish actor David Dencik was among the new cast members announced during the launch event.
Rounding out the list of new additions to Bond 25 is rising star Dali Benssalah.
A teaser was released on Dec. 2, announcing a full trailer coming soon.
