Take a Virtual Trip to Paradise With Maluma's Tropical-Themed VMAs Performance

Fresh off the release of his fifth studio album, Papi Juancho, Maluma made his grand return to the MTV VMAs stage on Sunday. Clad in a yellow suit, the 26-year-old Latin superstar virtually transported us to paradise with his energetic performance of his hit song "Hawái." Though the track is about a failed romance, Maluma seemed anything but sad as he took over the remote stage, which resembled a drive-in movie theater. The performance marked Maluma's second time performing at the ceremony following his 2018 debut, where he made history as the first solo Latin artist to sing a full song in Spanish at the show. Maluma also took home his first Moon Person for best Latin for his song "Qué Pena" with J Balvin.
