Michelle Obama's Girl-Power Single Features Missy Elliot, Is a Straight-Up Jam

No, Michelle Obama doesn't sing on this track, but yes, she did commission it from Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren. "This Is For My Girls" is part of Obama's #62MillionGirls campaign, created in support of girls' education worldwide. Missy Elliott, Lea Michele, Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, Janelle Monae, and Kelly Rowland are all featured on the track, which was unveiled on Wednesday — the same day as Obama's keynote address at the SXSW Music Festival. The song is available in full on iTunes, and proceeds will go to the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund. You can also just here a snippet of the track above!
