Mark-Paul Gosselaar Joins Mixed-ish in a Key Role — Meet the Rest of the Cast!

If you've been mourning the loss of seeing Mark-Paul Gosselaar on your TV screen each week now that Fox's The Passage has been canceled, we come bearing good news: he's joined ABC's Mixed-ish!
The Black-ish spinoff follows young Rainbow Johnson (the adult Bow is played by Tracee Ellis Ross in the original series) as she grows up with her parents and two younger siblings. Gosselaar is now attached to play Bow's father, Paul Johnson, who was previously portrayed by Workaholics star Anders Holm in the pilot, Deadline reports. (His reasons for leaving the show remain undisclosed.) Gosselaar is joined by Tika Sumpter as Bow's mother, Alicia, as they move their kids from a hippie commune to the suburbs to build a better, more stable life for their family.
The series is written by Peter Saji and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, and Ross is still on board as the show's narrator, recounting her experiences growing up in a mixed-race family in the '80s. Ahead, see who else is in the cast!

The Black-ish alum will appear in the series in voice only, as she narrates the ups and downs of childhood for her younger self.

The Pitch star is replacing Anders Holm as Bow's father, Paul. Although he's been appearing in dramas lately, we know he has excellent comedic timing thanks to his roles in Saved by the Bell, Franklin & Bash, and Truth Be Told.
Tika Sumpter as Alicia Johnson
Sumpter has most recently appeared in shows like The Haves and the Have Nots and Final Space, as well as films like Southside With You and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog adaptation. We can't wait to see her onscreen dynamic with Gosselaar!
Arica Himmel as Rainbow
The talented young actress has popped up in God Friended Me and Before You Know It and is a pretty great fit to play young Bow.

Although the trailer still features Anders Holm in the role of Bow's dad, Paul, you'll be able to catch a glimpse of the young actors playing her siblings: Mykal-Michelle Harris (as Santamonica Johnson) and Ethan Childress (as Johan Johnson).
