Go Behind the Scenes of Nina Dobrev's Final Days on the Vampire Diaries Set

We're still digesting the fact that Nina Dobrev is leaving The Vampire Diaries, even with this week's season finale. A few weeks ago, as she was on the set filming with costars, everyone was intent on capturing Dobrev's final days. There are a lot of emotions running high, and everyone seems to have tears in their eyes — especially Kat Graham and Candice Accola. It's hard to believe she's gone, but at least we can mourn over these cute pictures. Take a look here to see Dobrev and her costars' deeply bittersweet behind-the-scenes pictures.
Nina Drobrev got caked on her last day.
But she didn't go down alone. . . she took her costar Ian Somerhalder with her.
The cast gathered for a final photo with Dobrev.
Dobrev posted some pictures she took with Candice Accola.
"Just finished filming my last Stefan and Elena scene with the amazing Paul Wesley," Dobrev said. "Crazy. So many emotions. I'm lost for words."
"I feel like a blow fish," Dobrev said. "So puffy and bloated from crying all day. Tears of joy and sadness. Bittersweet. So many memories. What a fun ride . . . Beyond lucky and grateful to have had this experience and to have you in my life."
"Officially a mess," Dobrev captioned. "No hiding it anymore. Today has been a day filled with farewells. I still have two more days of shooting before I wrap TVD. But it's officially a wrap on Caroline and Elena and Bonnie. Finished filming with these two beautiful, funny, sweet, sassy, amazingly talented, and lovely ladies. Love you with all my heart and soul forever and always."
Dobrev posed for a shot in the hair and makeup chair.
Accola posted this throwback screenshot of an episode from the very first season in 2009.
Dobrev smiled for the camera while her costars remained buried in their phones.
Matthew Davis captured a majority of the cast (except where's Nina?), calling them The Misfits.
Kat Graham posted a couple of pictures, noting that she was "coping."
Davis poked fun at himself, saying, "And this is Nina's favorite dummy to work with."
On Monday, Dobrev posted this picture of one of her final scenes with Ian Somerhalder.
Davis basically just creeped around the set and took pictures of his napping costars.
Graham posted a beautiful black-and-white of the girls.
Chris Grismer, who directed Dobrev's final episode, and assistant director Trish Stanard posed for a quick photo.

Aww! Dobrev also posted this funny video of her and Michael Trevino after shooting their last scene.
Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder posted this one picture of himself.
"That's a wrap on season 6," captioned Davis.
"#ElenaGilbertForever," wrote costar Davis.
On the day of the finale airing, Dobrev posted a #TBT series from years past.
Or seasons past, as it were.
This show has been on a long time.
