Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield Chronicle a Love Story For the Ages in The Photograph

From the first few seconds of the trailer, The Photograph has us hooked and falling in love. Directed by Everything, Everything's Stella Meghie, the film follows the love story of two couples, in the past and the present. Mae (Issa Rae) is mourning the loss of her photographer mother when she meets Michael Block (Lakeith Stanfield). The two quickly fall head over heels as they get to know one another, but will fear stop them from making it last?

An intimate look at a series of intertwining love stories, The Photograph calls back to classic romantic black films like Love and Basketball and Love Jones, films that Meghie shared with PopSugar as being sources of inspiration. Along with Rae and Stanfield, the star-studded cast includes Jasmine Cephas Jones, Y'lan Noel, Lil Rel Howery, Teyonah Parris, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Chante Adams, Rob Morgan, Courtney B. Vance, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Chelsea Peretti. Watch the intimate trailer above and get ready to fall in love when The Photograph hits theaters on Feb. 14, 2020.
