The immensely talented How to Get Away With Murder actress won the People's Choice award for favorite actress in a new series and took the opportunity to get in a very subtle dig. "Thank you Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Peter Nowalk for thinking of a leading lady that looks like my classic beauty," she said. This is more than likely referring to the controversial New York Times piece that referred to Davis as "older, darker-skinned and less classically beautiful than [Kerry] Washington." Kudos to Davis for handling this impeccably.
