Who's the Scream Queens Killer? The Latest Theories

Fox

We are getting closer and closer to figuring out who the killer — I mean, killers — is on Scream Queens, and this week's episode revealed more than ever about the murders. We know lots of clues about the killers now, and we know a few people who are definitely guilty. Still, the third killer could almost be anyone, so we're breaking down the most likely suspects. There are a lot of red herrings and a lot of big clues, so here are the most likely suspects so far — from most suspicious to least.

Gigi Caldwell

Why she might be the killer:

  • The question isn't whether she's the killer; it's how deep in it is she, and who else is she working with? To recap, she has talked about a revenge plot and being cold-blooded killers with someone, and attacks Dean Munsch. Plus, we know she's the hag of Shady Lane and is one of the Kappas from the night of the '90s bathtub incident.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • She is a killer, definitely, but it sounds like she'll be taken out soon by one of her "teammates."

Boone

Why he might be the killer:

  • It's already been proven that he is one of the murderers since faking his own death. The only remaining questions about him are why (is he the male bathtub baby?), and who else he's working with.

Wes

Why he might be the killer:

  • His motive has already been established: he hates sororities because of what they made Grace's mother. Is there more that he knows about Kappa, though?
  • He loves the horror movie The Texas Chain Saw Massacre waaay too much.

Why he might not be the killer:

  • It seems like he is oblivious to Gigi's plan, who is clearly in on it.

Chanel #3

Why she might be the killer:

  • Her dad is Charles Manson. It could be true that it's in the genes.
  • She gives an impassioned speech to Sam about how the people who love her suffer tragic fates. Does she enact her own for Sam?
  • Sam saying, "I knew it was you," when she sees the killer points directly at Chanel #3.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • She seems genuinely sad that Sam is dead.

Dean Munsch

Why she might be the killer:

  • She's definitely a murderer, but is she the murderer?
  • The motive here is glaringly obvious. She hates sororities and everything they stand for, especially now that we know she was there the night in the '90s when one of the Kappa pledges died.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • She gets attacked the three red devils.

Pete

Why he might be the killer:

  • He's the standard unpopular Greek-hater (and also was rejected by Chanel the previous year) . . . and he has the killer's costume in his closet. Plus, the camera seems to linger on him making creepy expressions at people.
  • He's flying so perfectly under the radar that it could so be him.

Why he might not be the killer:

  • The costume could just be the mascot costume, like he insists, and it's so obvious that it's him that he's a total red herring.
  • He seems very dedicated to solving the crime . . . then again, that's a great cover.

Chanel Oberlin

Why she might be the killer:

  • Well, she's evil, that's for sure. She most likely orchestrated the former sorority president's acid-burning accident and probably knew what she was doing with Ms. Bean.
  • We also now know that Chad was dating her other sorority sisters, like Sonya (aka Chanel #2) — who's now dead, and that he slept with others the red devil has attacked. Jealousy may be the motive.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • Words seem to be Chanel's weapon of choice, not murder. Plus, she's been attacked by the killer.
  • Chanel took Chad's threat and gave Hester a makeover rather than kill her. That proves she's selfish, but maybe not a murderer.

Chanel #5

Why she might be the killer:

  • Being reduced to a minion by Chanel may have driven her to murder.
  • She seems very intent on bringing down Chanel.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • She is chased through the maze by the killer, and one of her boyfriends is murdered.

Chad Radwell

Why he might be the killer:

  • Chad might actually be the muscle of a killer operation, and not necessarily the brains. He could be the third killer besides Boone and Gigi based on build alone.
  • He has said he gets turned on by dead bodies.
  • He has a knife collection he likes to play with.
  • He secretly dated Sonya (Chanel #2) last year, and now she's dead.
  • For that matter, we know he has slept with Dean Munsch and Denise. Is he just promiscuous, or is he gaining trust and/or info?

Why he's probably not the killer:

  • He's dumber than a box of rocks.
  • He's trying to solve Boone's "murder." Then again, if he's the red devil who pulled Boone out of the morgue, that could be a really good cover . . .
  • Despite all that bragging about being turned on by dead bodies, he seems genuinely freaked out when he and Hester discover all the real bodies of the red devil's victims.

Hester

Why she might be the killer:

  • It's always the quiet ones. Also, girlfriend knows a lot about hiding bodies.
  • She is the one to find Sam, after all.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • Like Chad, she seems truly freaked out by all the dead bodies in the house on Shady Lane.

Denise

Why she might be the killer:

  • She's supposed to protect the girls — that gives her an advantage on getting close enough to them to kill.
  • As Zayday points out, Denise had been rejected by Kappa when she was in college (which had also led her to drop out). Is this revenge?

Why she might not be the killer:

  • She isn't in the car when her friend got killed.

Grace

  • Why she might be the killer: Because it's not obvious. She's set up to be the heroine, so making her the killer would really throw you off.
  • Why she might not be the killer: We keep seeing Grace being stalked by the red devil, so it's probably not her.

Zayday

Why she might be the killer:

  • She wants the Kappa presidency really bad. Murder-bad?
  • She has a chainsaw under her bed.
  • The killer kidnaps her but lets her go.

Why she might not be the killer:

  • Zayday genuinely doesn't seem like a killer. At least, I hope she's not.
  • Maybe that chainsaw really is from her grandma.
