Cardi B Opens Up to Jimmy Kimmel About Not Exactly Being Prepared For the Effects of Childbirth

If you're a new mom who's wondering why no one ever warned you about the pains of childbirth, you're not alone. Cardi B appeared on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, where she got real with the talk-show host about giving birth to her daughter, Kulture, this past Summer. "She broke my vagina," the 26-year-old said when asked whether she thought giving birth was easier or harder than she originally imagined.

She continued, "Why nobody tells you about those things? Nobody told me they were gonna stitch my vagina. People just be like, 'Oh, you know, when you give birth, it's gonna hurt,' but nobody tells you that like — your vagina."

Cardi B gave birth to her daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus — named after her husband, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus — back in July. The "I Like It" rapper has been embracing being a mother ever since, though a thorough look at her Instagram feed will show that she's been careful about keeping her baby out of the spotlight. "I don't know who's next to me and who has certain intentions," she told Kimmel. "I don't wanna show my baby out to the public right now. I just want to protect her. I'm not mentally ready."
