39,000 Car Seats Were Just Recalled For Risk of Chest Injuries

Check your car seats!

Combi USA is recalling more than 39,000 car seats due to a risk of exerting too much force onto a child's chest. Combi released a statement informing consumers that the Coccoro Convertible child restraints — model number 8220, manufactured from January 1, 2009, to June 29, 2016 — "fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, 'Child Restraint Systems.'"

If you own a Combi seat with any of the below listed model numbers, you may call Combi USA at 1-888-232-3294 or visit their website for a free remedy kit, which includes a cover to add to the bottom of the seat. (Note: this recall does not affect the seat when it is rear-facing — the cover is meant for use with forward-facing seats.)
