Blake Lively is expecting her third child (likely sometime this Fall!), and while we're superexcited for the whole family, we'd be lying if we didn't say we're most excited for the one-liners that are inevitably going to come out of Ryan Reynolds throughout her pregnancy. The couple, who married in 2012, have two daughters together, and though Ryan has become the king of parenting humor on Twitter, some of his funniest stories and tweets to date have been about childbirth.
While we wait for the humor to roll out during Blake's third pregnancy, take a look back at some of Ryan's best quotes about birth ahead.
"I jammed to a little Marvin Gaye, 'Let's Get It On,'" Ryan told Seth Meyers when he asked him about being in the delivery room for James's birth. "It was like steak knives came out of her eyes. She was like, 'Are you f*cking sh*tting me right now?'"
We're sure he did more than just sit and eat gummy bears while Blake labored . . . though, maybe not.
His top five tips for dads in the delivery room were as follows:
When he wanted to find out spoilers from Blake's movie, A Simple Favor, he tweeted: "You can tell me. We're married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So . . . what the f*ck happened to Emily?" Spoiler alert: she didn't give him any spoilers, rather, she shared that "of all the secrets I'm keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your concerns . . . trust me" — because although Ryan may know how to dish the humor, Blake knows how to give it riiiight back.
Speaking with E!, Ryan shared — in between jokes, of course — a really sweet sentiment about Blake giving birth. "When that happens, you fall so much more in love with your partner. It's a pretty crazy experience," he said. "What blows my mind is that it's so common, yet it's so profound at the same time. Something so many people do . . . It's just the best thing that ever happened to you."
