When she is not busy walking the red carpet in Dior, Jennifer Lawrence's style is laid-back just like ours — she is America's sweetheart, after all. So when the hilariously real actress stepped out in NYC, it was no surprise that she opted for the ultimate laid-back staples: denim cutoffs and a casual gray shirt. And while her daisy dukes weren't as tiny as the booty-baring styles we've spotted on stars like Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift, Jennifer is still embracing the ultrashort shorts trend we've spotted all season long.

We might normally just toss on sandals with our cutoffs and top, but Jennifer gave her casual-cool look a major upgrade by adding dressy summery accessories. Slingback mules, a patterned Elizabeth and James bucket bag, a lightweight panama hat, and peach-tinted Oliver Peoples Masek sunglasses gave her outfit the perfect amount of oomph without feeling overly polished.
