1 Man Was Photoshopped in Countries Around the World and the Results Will Shock You

Body image and self-confidence are two issues that are receiving constant attention nowadays. Whether it's celebrities speaking out against body shaming or the creation of new Barbie dolls representing all colors and sizes, it seems the world is becoming a more universally accepting place — or is it?

In order to gain a better understanding of body-image issues, an online medical service based in the UK enlisted 19 graphic designers from countries around the world to photoshop one man so that he appears more physically attractive to the people in each culture.

As you can imagine, the results were pretty astounding. In some countries, the photo was only slightly altered, but in others (like the United States), the man looks almost completely unrecognizable after a few virtual nips and tucks. Read on to see what body standards look like across the globe.
