Of Course, Saturday Night Live Spoofed That Presidential Emergency Alert

NBC

On Oct. 3, Donald Trump sent out a presidential alert heard round the nation. The alert sent out was simply a test; however, many — including the writers at Saturday Night Live — were left wondering how the new system might be used in the future.

"Failing New York Times said I cheated on taxes. Duh! It's called being smart," read an alert in the painfully accurate spoof on the show. Another one read, "Puerto Rico is fine now! I guess the paper towels worked!" The alerts pretty much only get more ridiculous from there. Watch the timely skit ahead.
