10 Sweat-Proof Beauty Products That Beat the Workout Test

When it comes to working out, I could care less about how I look. I never wear makeup during a sweat session for a number of reasons: 1) I'm there to exercise, not to look pretty; 2) working out with a full face of makeup isn't recommended because it could, potentially, result in breakouts and clogged pores; and 3) the thought of putting on a full face of makeup just to sweat it off makes me sad.
But in the name of Summer and finding the best sweat-proof products, I put the latest long-wearing formulas to the test during an hour-long P.volve workout. (For anyone unfamiliar with the class, the workout is low to medium impact, but it definitely packs a punch.) Following my session, I wasn't drenched in sweat like I would be after a Spin class, but my ass was definitely on fire and I did break a decent steam. Check out a few of my favorite products that stood up to the task.
1 Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
To truly secure my makeup before my workout, I put Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($32) to the test. I know that this is technically a step for after your makeup is on, but I wanted to give my skin a matte base for the rest of my products.
2 NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation
Since I got my hands on NYX Cosmetics's Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation ($15, available August 16) I've been hooked. I love the skin-like finish and rich coverage that the new formula gives, but the real test of my love came to breaking a sweat with a full face of this on. Prior to my workout, I coated my face with a decent-sized pump of my shade Nutmeg. After, I looked in the mirror to find my base beaming and still in tact. I didn't have any sweat marks along my hairline and my entire face stayed put. The only thing I did notice was some shine peaking through my T-zone, which I didn't mind considering I just wrapped a tough workout.
3 Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer
Like my foundation, I was pleased with the way my under eyes held up post-P.volve. I used Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Golden ($8) to mask my bags and after sweating they were still hidden. The formula didn't settle into my creases or leave me looking too shiny.
4 Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit
I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit ($40) every day, and the morning of my workout was no different. I sculpted my cheekbones with the darkest shade and left the workout still snatched. The sweat along my sideburns also didn't leave any weird marks where I contoured.
5 Huda Beauty Bronze Sands 3D Highlighter Palette
To add dimension to my face, I used Maldives from the Huda Beauty Bronze Sands 3D Highlighter Palette ($45). I loved that my skin still look highlighted without making me look like I was painted with grease.
6 Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Snapdragon
I used Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Snapdragon ($34) to give my cheeks a hint of pink before my workout. I did feel like some of my blush faded, but not enough to make me unhappy with my final face.
7 Covergirl Easy Breezy Brow Micro Fine + Define Pencil
I'm currently in the process of growing out my brows, so I can't afford to have them sweat off during a workout. Luckily, Covergirl Easy Breezy Brow Micro Fine + Define Pencil ($7) kept mine filled in through a sweat session.
8 Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liquid Eye Liner
For my eyeliner, I used Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liquid Eye Liner to draw on a dramatic wing. Post-workout, my cat eye remained bold and intact.
9 Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment in American Woman
Though my body was moving, my lipstick did not move a muscle. I used Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment in American Woman ($26), which is also my go-to office lip, and was impressed with how it held up through excessive water-drinking and a smoothie after class.
