You're Going to Be Mad For This Plaid Holiday Nail Art Design
Tartans. Argyles. Plaids. Whatever you want to call it, this textile pattern is a Winter favorite, so of course I wanted to deck out my nails in this seasonal print. To make it a little more festive, I decided to go with a classic red, green, and gold combo. While it looks like an intricately layered look, it's actually quite easy to freehand on your fingertips. If you can (sort of) draw a straight line, you can master this preppy design — trust us! Keep reading to learn the easy steps to DIY it at home.
The Products
Base coat: Butter London Nail Fertilizer ($19)
Base color: Essie Jump in My Jumpsuit ($9)
Green diamonds: Color Club Nail Art Duo Pen in Green ($5)
Gold stripe: Chanel Le Vernis in Delight ($27)

Step 1
For a holiday plaid, it seemed only appropriate to start with a rich red hue as a base.
Step 2
Next, I layered green on top. Using the nail art pen, I used the striper pen to create diagonal lines that create a diamond pattern.
Step 3
Then, I filled in the diamond shapes to create the base of the argyle look.
Step 4
Finally, I used a striping brush to create diagonal lines that intersect on top of my green diamond shapes. Then, I sealed everything in with a glossy topcoat. You're left with a festive plaid print fit for the holidays!
