6 Skincare Products I Crushed on This February

When it comes to my beauty routine, I'm constantly switching things up. I mean this literally. In my lifetime, I've probably hit pan on 15 products total. That being said, this Winter, my skin has fallen in love with a few products that have resulted in me squeezing, pumping, and scraping the last bit of product from bottles and jars for a well-rounded collection of empties. Here are the products I've had to say goodbye to and the ones I desperately need to restock.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil

I have a wide collection of cleansing oils and balms. In my opinion, they get the job done like no other. I've had this one by Kiehl's ($32) for a few months, but rediscovered it this February when my skin was looking for a something that would remove makeup without stripping it dry. A part of the brand's cult-classic Midnight Recovery line, this cleansing oil can be worked into a light lather and isn't too heavy for those wary of putting oils on their face. Plus, it rinses off nicely without any residue. I used it nightly with a washcloth and my skin would feel so soft afterward that I would sometimes forget to put on moisturizer. Le sigh. I'll miss you.

Renée Rouleau Blemish Control Cleanser

Yes, another cleanser, because I'm a skincare freak! This one is my go-to in-shower cleanser. It's slightly exfoliating so it helps slough away dry skin in the morning for a clean, patch-free canvas. The AHA and BHA Blemish Control Cleanser ($32) helps manage and curb any potential breakouts. If you haven't tried any of Renée Rouleau's products, you should get on that — she's my skincare queen.

Tata Harper Body Oil

I have a confession to make . . . of those 15 products I've actually finished? This product accounts for three of them. I go through Tata Harper's Body Oil ($95) like water. As soon as I get out of the shower, before I dry off, I slather my entire body in this stuff. It absorbs faster into your skin if you're slightly damp. Then, after a few minutes, I'll add a moisturizer on top. Excessive? Maybe. But my skin is smooth like a baby's bottom.

Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Soap

If you shop at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or any health food store, you've probably seen these colorful bottles before. But what you might not know is that Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Soap ($4) is an all-star product that should be in every bathroom in America. OK. Maybe that's slightly dramatic, but seriously, this is the first body wash that me and my husband agree on, so that in itself is a small miracle that is worthy of praise. Dr. Bronner's big claim to fame is that this soap has 18 uses. I've only ever used it for the body wash, but my husband has tired it as a shampoo and has said good things. As for the other 16 ways — I think that's another post for another time. In the meantime, I'll be restocking on my favorite scent, lavender, as a calming addition to my nighttime routine.

Epicuren After Bath Moisturizer

Kim Kardashian West taught me this one. As much as I try to avoid taking beauty advice from the entire Kardashian crew, this cream ($40) that Kim endorses on the reg is actually totally legit. Again, apply after your shower while your skin is still slightly damp for instant absorption. Kim loves the coconut scent, but I'm also partial to vanilla.

Votre Vu Tragic Magic Rescue Creme

Votre Vu Tragic Magic Rescue Creme

OK. This. is. the. best. moisturizer. ever. I don't make this claim lightly, but I have literally never used anything like this before in my life. It's lightweight yet effective on dry skin; it's good for sensitive skin, yet has a rejuvenating and "clean" scent. This moisturizer ($78) does it all. If your face is like mine — reactive and random patches of redness — meet your new best friend.
