Target is a gold mine of luxury and niche beauty brands these days. One label to recently hit its shelves has a massive cult following in Canada: Skinfix. While it originated in Britain, it's spread like wildfire to our neighbors up north, due to its Homeoplasmine-like qualities.

For those of you who see "Homeoplasmine" and think I'm speaking intergalactically, it's in every major makeup artist's kit and is a cure-all for most skin ailments. Thing is, it's sold in French pharmacies, so it's only available by picking it up on your next trip to Paris, or by ordering it online (along with a steep shipping fee).

There have been many answers to this French find; Elizabeth Arden's Eight-Hour Cream ($21) and Japan's YuBe Skin Cream ($16) also compare. Homeoplasmine helps with major skin irritations, like eczema, dermatitis, dry patches, chapped lips, diaper rash, etc. And it is especially satisfying during the Winter months.

Chances are, though, you don't want to slather your precious Eight-Hour Cream or French import all over your Winter rash, which is why Skinfix's recent launch in the US makes it that much sweeter.

Skinfix focuses on healing the skin without any irritants, like steroids or fragrances. The main ingredient is colloidal oatmeal, which helps protect the skin but also soothes it. I have to admit that it's a little greasy at first, but that doesn't last long. I love applying it to my cuticles because it absorbs quickly and has a matte finish. You won't feel sticky or oily afterwards, which is the main complaint most of us have when it comes to skin-soothing, hydrating products.

There are currently five products available. The Body Repair Balm ($17) should do the trick, but if you're looking to target a specific issue (like diaper rash), there are balms formulated with those issues in mind.
