You've probably been told more times than you can count about the importance of applying sunscreen, yet many people still skip this vital step in their daily routine.

One previous sunscreen skeptic is Greg Binnie from Scotland, who shared his experience on Twitter. After spending a day out with his friends, Greg returned home and his mom pointed out his tender red skin. Greg told BBC Scotland that he then spent the next two days working outside and his already-burned skin became worse and formed blistering second-degree burns.

The 20-year-old shared the photo of the burn on Twitter, and it instantly went viral as a powerful reminder to apply sunscreen. The photo has been retweeted 24K times and has 43K "likes".

As for the pain, Greg has been coating himself in yogurt to ease the burn.

The next time you leave your house, don't forget to apply a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher with broad-spectrum protection (meaning it protects against both UVA and UVB rays). And reapply! The minutes you save by skipping sunscreen aren't worth these painful burns. If you do get red, though, find tips on how to alleviate it here.
