The People Have Spoken: These Are the Best Beauty Collaborations of 2018
Picture this: two icons walk into a room, and sparks fly immediately. That's kind of how we feel about a good beauty collaboration. This year, celebrities, fashion legends, influencers, and even Disney princesses have partnered with top cosmetics brands to make our dreams come true, with limited-edition sets of makeup, skin care, and hair care that perfectly meld the two's unique personas.
Some of 2018's best collabs (and there were many of them) had the ability to prompt our editors to do two things: first, scream; and second, try everything to get our hands on it. Read on to see the most exciting partnerships of the year.
Vlada Haggerty and Smashbox
There is only one lip editor-in-chief in the world, and it's Vlada Haggerty. So when she came out with a collection with Smashbox, we were expecting tools for the best lip art ever. We were shocked to find that — and more. Along with shimmering lip glosses and lip paints, the Smashbox and Vlada Petal Metal Highlighter ($39) contains a rose gold highlighter with an intricate rose etched in it.
Karl Lagerfeld and ModelCo
From the eyeshadow palette made to look like Choupette the cat to the mini Karl's at the base of each brush — everything about Karl Lagerfeld's collection with Modelco is delightful.
Patrick Starrr and MAC
Patrick Starrr's fourth and final collection with MAC is dressed in red and glitter for the 2018 holiday season. Our favorite item from the collection: Starrr's setting powder, Patrick Starrr x MAC Cosmetics Patrick's Powder ($29).
Kitsch and Justine Marjan
Kitsch and Justine Marjan have teamed up for a crystal-encrusted collection. One of our favorites from the collection is the Kitsch x Justine Marjan "Glam" Rhinestone Bobby Pin ($30), which screams — you know.
Wu-Tang and Milk Makeup
Wu-Tang x Milk Makeup Lip Color Collection ($440) houses MILK makeup's highly pigmented formulas inside Wu-Tang's collectable, decorative casings.
