All the Obsession-Worthy Designer Collaborations From 2015
Fashion and beauty, beauty and fashion — the two topics go hand in hand. Fashion Week isn't the only time these two industries collide. Big-name designers team up with their favorite beauty brands all year round. Just imagine your favorite MAC lipstick updated with packaging worthy of the runway (yes, please!). These collections are unique and limited edition, so you'll want to start planning now to purchase later this year. We promise splurging on your favorite fashion-stamped products will be a lot more affordable than buying that haute couture gown.
EOS and Keds
EOS lip balms are a beauty staple in all of our purses — the shape makes them so easy to find! The brand has teamed up with one of our wardrobe essentials, Keds, for the ultimate style collaboration. Three sneaker designs are getting a makeover inspired by EOS's vanilla lip balm, which will be sold with each pair. You'll be able to find this adorable set exclusively at Shoe Carnival.
Toni&Guy and Sophia Webster
This collaboration was born backstage at Fashion Week! After partnering on a show, the two brands decided to collaborate on a limited-edition line of products. The funky packaging matches the multicolored neon on Sophia Webster's Spring collection. Head to your local Target to snap up the items!
Anthony Vaccarello For Lancome
Italian-Belgian fashion designer (and creative director of Versace Versus) Anthony Vaccarello is lending his love of color contrast to a capsule collection for Lancome. The three limited-edition shadow palettes ($50 each, available in September) in the collaboration feature vibrant but wearable shades to create a range of daring looks.
Nails Inc. and Alice + Olivia
If you've been getting sick of the festive neon shades of Summer, you'll be pumped for Nails Inc.'s collaboration with Alice + Olivia. The eight polish shades were inspired by the fashion line's Fall collection, which has a 1970s rock and roll/bohemian vibe. We're especially into this adorable set of minis ($25)!
Estée Lauder and Opening Ceremony
With any purchase of $500 or more at the Estée Lauder counter, you will receive this gorgeous gift with purchase. The limited-edition set includes an Opening Ceremony makeup bag packed with samples. Inside are miniatures of the Muse fragrance, a crimson lip color, and the Advanced Night Repair Serum.
Jergens For Rory Beca
Jergens teamed up with the California-cool brand to create an exclusive beach bag ($150, available this Summer) stashed with bronze-bod essentials, including a scrub, self tanner, and tan-extending moisturizer. Top it all off with the included (limited-edition!) Rory Beca gown, and wait for the compliments to roll in.
TIGI Bed Head and Mara Hoffman
Bed Head's edgy aesthetic is a perfect match for bold fashion designer Mara Hoffman, who collaborated with the hair care line to create a psychedelic sarong and beach bag. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, you can snag them from your local salon with the purchase of the Bed Head Beach collection. The Totally Beachin' Shampoo ($16) and Conditioner ($17) gently cleanse all hair types of sweat, sea, and sand, while the Beach Bound Protection Spray ($19) protects color-treated hair from heat damage and UV rays. Your mermaid hair will thank you!
Lela Rose x Beauty.com
Sample-sized products are a mainstay in our makeup bags (they're so good for travel!), but thanks to this collaboration, we're swapping out our dirty vinyl cases for a chic embroidered clutch. Designer Lisa Rose created this purse inspired by her Spring 2015 collection just for Beauty.com shoppers. A purchase of $150 gets you not just the clutch, but 17 minis from a wide range of brands, including L'Occitane, Alterna, and Bare Minerals. Psst — this would make a great last-minute Mother's Day gift!
Nars and Christopher Kane
As beauty editors, we straddle the fence every day about what makeup to wear: neon or nude? Well, the new Christopher Kane NeoNeutral Summer 2015 cosmetics collaboration has both. Nars and the London-based designer have worked together for several seasons backstage, and this line captures the brightest shades from the runway.
Lulu Guinness and Tangle Teezer
Lulu Guinness has designed everything from key chains to clutches, but this will be her first hairbrush. Tangle Teezer enlisted the British accessories maven to outfit a limited-edition brush. The detangler is covered in Lulu's signature cutout-lip print. The special compact styler will be available in April for $20.
Estée Lauder and Courrèges
Designer André Courrèges launched his eponymous fashion brand around the same time Estée Lauder started her company — during the space-obsessed era of the early 1960s. Their 13-piece collection debuted in March 2015 and is a take on beauty through Courrèges's futuristic lens, featuring lightweight lip glosses, highlighters, and white liquid liner.
Pond's and Jonathan Adler
We've dreamed of owning a piece of Jonathan Adler furniture since the college years. Now we can finally get his unique style at home through his new Pond's collaboration. Adler created two modern cases for the classic Wet Cleansing Towelettes. The blue shade will be available exclusively at Walgreens this April. There's also an emerald-green version, which you can find at Target exclusively.
Betsey Johnson and Kleenex
Cold-and-flu season just got a lot more fashionable. Betsey Johnson is bringing her eclectic fashion aesthetic to your biggest Winter essential — Kleenex. Johnson updated the tissue boxes and travel packs with punk prints, including roses, houndstooth, leopard, and more.
True Isaac Mizrahi
Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi is taking his sense of style from the runway to the beauty aisle. He recently launched a range of color cosmetics and skin care, which will be sold through QVC. The collection includes everything from bright blushes to eye cream, and the prices range from $10 to $68.
Rebecca Minkoff at Essie
Essie is signing designer Rebecca Minkoff as the Global Color Designer for the brand. Her new role will include creating new nail polish shades based on trends in fashion. The first collaborative collection will arrive in March, with six new colors ranging from teal blue to smoky gray. She also worked with Essie for the nails at her New York Fashion Week show.
Pamella Roland and Pattie Yankee
Fashion designer Pamella Roland is expanding her empire from womenswear to manicures. The pastel pink shade was created in conjunction with nail guru Pattie Yankee. The shade, dubbed Cherry Blossom, was inspired by the colors in Roland's Spring 2015 clothing collection.
Beauty.com and Creatures of Comfort
Spend $100 on Beauty.com this month, and you can get this designer bag as a gift with purchase. The Creatures of Comfort dopp kit comes packed with luxe beauty samples like It Cosmetics concealer, Jurlique serum, and Origins eye cream. So you could give it to the man in your life, or save all the goodies for yourself.
DreamDry and Jonathan Adler
Typically hair salons are scented with the aroma of hairspray and hot tools, but on your next visit to DreamDry blowout bar you might catch the aroma of the Jonathan Adler Champagne Pop Candle ($42). The votive is a blend of pink grapefruit, Champagne, raspberry, rose petals, sage, and mint. You can purchase this exclusive candle collaboration at select NYC and Chicago DreamDry salons.
MAC Isabel and Ruben Toledo
MAC is known for launching several major collaborations a year, and already it is kicking off 2015 with a major fashion-forward compilation. The Toledo collection is wrapped in drawings by illustrator Ruben Toledo, and the color selection was influenced by his designing wife, Isabel.
Lilly Pulitzer For Target
Fashion-lovers have waited in line for hours in anticipation of the Target collaborations, but there hasn't been anything big for beauty-lovers until now. The Lilly Pulitzer line will include color cosmetics and makeup bags. So get ready to fight for your favorites at a bull's-eye near you in April.
Jin Soon and Tila March
For the Tila March fifth anniversary, the brand teamed up with New York nail expert Jin Soon Choi. The Spring 2015 set includes neon bags, sandals, and nail colors. In the past, Jin Soon has worked with the likes of Tess Giberson and Tibi, but these electric polish shades make for her brightest collaboration yet. Expect to see the five shades for sale this February.
Shu Uemura and Yaz Bukey
Jewelry and accessories designer Yaz Bukey is coming together with Shu Uemura for a 34-piece beauty collection. The products will arrive in May and include everything from skin care to false lashes. Plus, Yaz Bukey has a line of lipstick necklaces and pout-shaped brooches that any beauty junkie would love. File this as a win-win.
Estée Lauder and Lisa Perry
This is one gift with purchase that is worth every penny. When you shop $45 worth of Estée Lauder product, you'll get a slew of samples packaged in a one-of-a-kind Lisa Perry bag. Inside you'll get a serum, a moisturizer, eye cream, lipstick, and a minimascara (worth over $150). It's like a prepackaged travel beauty case.
