Dove Cameron's hairstyle at the 2022 Met Gala gave the night's "Gilded Glamour" theme a futuristic spin. The actor arrived at the fundraising event with a bold eye-makeup look that featured a dramatic reverse cat eye and clear, beaded eye gems, which added a fun droplet texture to her eyes. Her hairstyle, however, brought together her entire look.

"When I first saw Dove's dress, I thought of a futuristic woman and wanted to reflect the dress details in the hair," Cameron's hairstylist Jacob Rozenberg tells POPSUGAR. "I wanted to also lean into the romantic side of the dress, which reminded me of 'Romeo and Juliet.'"

Once he landed on the final look (and after three prior iterations), it took Rozenberg an hour and a half to create. "Ahead of the Met Gala, I sandwiched the tape-in Great Lengths Hair Extensions together, razor cut them, and used a Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000 ($250) and Harry Josh Pro Tools Magnesium Thermal Brush ($55) to blow them out before sculpting them onto a Styrofoam head before letting them dry overnight," he says. "Then, I blew out the roots of Dove's hair, again using the Pro Dryer and Magnesium Thermal Brush, but left the ends their natural texture before pulling them into a bun. I gave her hair shape without overtly styling using the Harry Josh Pro Tools 3-in-1 Ceramic Curling Iron ($185), then I pinned the Great Lengths Hair Pieces into her bun."
