Zoom In on Every Gorgeous Hair Accessory From the Met Gala
Honestly, we expected there to be some pretty outrageous beauty looks on the Met Gala red carpet thanks to the theme (read: winged eyeliner and poppy-painted pouts). However, the highlight of this year's red carpet was spotting all the Asian-inspired hair accessories. The headpieces ranged from the extreme (Sarah Jessica Parker's flaming fascinator) to simple and subtle (Diane Kruger's white blossoms). As you flip through all the detail shots from the event, you'll see how the stars played up the theme with botanical baubles and gilded crowns. Get a close-up view of every comb, chopstick, and clip that came down fashion's biggest red carpet when you continue.
Kate Hudson
Kate's cascading hair accessory was a custom collaboration between Michael Kors and jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.
Zendaya
The sunburst wreath Zendaya wore on the Met Gala red carpet was a cross between Chinese art and Little Mermaid's crown.
Wendi Murdoch
Wendi complemented her side braid with a couple bronze flower barrettes — one at the base of the braid and another near her part.
Sarah Jessica Parker
It's obvious SJP won the award for best headpiece on the Met Gala red carpet. It pulled many different elements from the Chinese theme like flames, flowers, and tassels.

And from the back . . .
Georgia May Jagger
To give her Hollywood curls flare, Georgia added a hairpiece of blue flowers just over her ear. The teal color coordinated with the designs on her dress.
Blair Voltz Clarke
Blair was obviously in competition with SJP for the most extravagant headpiece of the night. Her floral arrangement by L'Olivier Floral Atelier was a mix of Spring colors and diamonds.

The piece is just as impressive in this close-up shot.
Courtney Eaton
This hairstyle was something straight off the Dolce & Gabbana runway, including the gold headband.
Diane Kruger
A few fresh blooms completed Diane's upswept Met Gala style.
Karen Elson
Karen's gold headpiece appears as if a floral bush was dipped in gold.
Rihanna
While Rihanna's long gold cloak stole the show, her red bob was wrapped in a ruby-encrusted hair accessory.
Selena Gomez
We're getting major Billie Holiday vibes from Selena's white-flowers-and-red-lipstick combination.
Marissa Mayer
Marissa added a pop of color to her chignon with two decorated bobby pins that matched her crimson dress.
Alicia Keys
Alicia added a purple floral pin to her mohawk hairstyle.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga obviously pulled inspiration from peacocks for her beauty look, from the feathers on her cloak to the temporary tattoo on her breast. Her headpiece represented the regal bird, too.
Olivia Wilde
A gray turban headband topped off Olivia's Met Gala hairstyle.
Lily Aldridge
This vintage pin was the hidden wow factor in Lily's Met Gala updo.
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy's floral hair accents precisely matched her plum lip on the Met Gala red carpet.
Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa added a studded veil to her Met Gala ensemble. The birdcage headband was just short enough to show off her smoky eye makeup.
Diane von Furstenberg
DVF walked the Met Gala red carpet with blue and teal feathers peeking out of her signature auburn curls.
Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis
The sun had nothing on Elisabeth's glorious gold headpiece. She complemented the look with a bold red lipstick and sleek chignon.
Lily Collins
Lily has become a red carpet favorite for her classic Audrey Hepburn style. For the Met Gala, she tucked her blunt bangs underneath a simple veil and added a bright tangerine lip.
Annabelle Wallis
Annabelle's chignon was covered in jewel roses straight from the Dolce & Gabbana couture collection.
