No one wants their skin to look dull. From buildup to redness to just plain blah, it's natural to go through periods where your skin feels less radiant. Thankfully, there are many easy ways to revive your skin's natural glow by tweaking your routine. Following a gentle yet effective regimen will get you refreshed and glowing in no time. Follow these five hacks to obliterate dullness for good.

Brighten Your Skin With a Refreshing Scrub

Perhaps the best way to tackle dullness is by exfoliating. Have sensitive skin? No problem! There's a way to be gentle. Prep your face by wetting it with warm water — anything too hot will just dry it out. You'll want to find a face scrub like St. Ives's Even and Bright Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub with a moderate level of exfoliation to sufficiently remove buildup and polish the skin. Gently massage the scrub into your face for about two to three minutes. The texture and refreshing smell of the scrub will enliven your senses while you wake up your tired skin. Finally, wash off the product with cool water to help close your pores for a more even, toned, radiant complexion.

When exfoliating your skin, apply your scrub in circular motions, focusing on your cheeks (see above) and T-zone area. Rinse off and watch the dullness fade before your eyes.

Give Your Face a Steam With Lemon

Give Your Face a Steam With Lemon

Cleanse your skin of built-up toxins and dirt by treating yourself to an at-home steam. Start by filling up a large bowl with hot water with soothing ingredients, like lemons and herbs, to boost the quality and create aromatherapy elements. Place your face above the bowl, and concentrate the treatment on your face by putting a towel over your head to trap the steam. Do this for five to 10 minutes — anything longer might cause swelling and irritation.

Refresh Tired Eyes

Refresh Tired Eyes

Never worry about under-eye bags after a sleepless night again! You can refresh tired eyes in a snap thanks to frozen tea bags, which reduce puffiness, leaving your skin looking wide awake. Simply stick your morning tea bag in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes or until cold. Apply one to each eye for about 15 minutes, and lie back and relax while keeping them in place. You might even be able to squeeze in a 20-minute power nap while you're at it.

Under-eye bags are no match for cool tea bags. Apply them for 15 minutes to awaken tired-looking eyes for a refreshed look.

Stay Hydrated Inside and Out

Stay Hydrated Inside and Out

Drinking water and staying hydrated is the key to maintaining a fresh, natural glow. But misting your face topically can help, too! Easily refresh your skin throughout the day with a spray bottle full of rose water. Rose water has calming properties that also help reduce redness. You can DIY your own rose spray to keep on your desk or at home, and spritz your face whenever your skin is feeling dry.

Get Rid of Excess Shine in a Pinch

Get Rid of Excess Shine in a Pinch

Everyone wants radiant skin, but there's a big difference between glowing and oily. If you're in a bind, try folding a clean toilet seat cover into a small square and lightly blotting any areas with extra shine. The paper will absorb any unwanted oil and quickly take your skin from greasy to radiant.
