My Transformation
Any time I’ve tried red lipstick, it has been with ambivalence, because I've always had the same disappointing results. I'll get excited about the color in the tube, try it on, feel dissatisfied or insecure about how it looks, and then rub it off. This time was different. Finding a new, universally flattering red lipstick made stepping out of my comfort zone easier — the shade boosted my complexion and my confidence as soon as I put it on. The alluring color was perfect for my skin tone. Texture wise, the lipstick felt smooth, moisturizing, and impressively weightless.

I expected to feel a little self-conscious leaving the house wearing red lipstick — I was totally out of my comfort zone. But from the moment I put this lipstick on, I felt really polished and strong. I carried myself differently. I think people noticed the confidence I projected because I saw a few people smile or look up as I walked down the street.
I went into my local coffee shop and made small talk with the guy ahead of me in line. When it was my turn to order I was psyched to find out that he had paid for my chai latte. A night out with my boyfriend was the true test. I’ve always opted for more neutral lipstick on dates, and my boyfriend seemed to prefer it, too. Or so I thought.
