Priyanka Chopra Subtly Changes Her Eyebrows and Eye Color For Different Acting Roles

If you don't admire Priyanka Chopra, then who are you?! The former Miss World winner, star of ABC's Quantico, and red carpet darling is pretty damn universally likable. She's inspiring as all hell, especially for Indian and American women, and she seems like a truly kind person (trust us, we chatted with her on the phone!).

In addition to starring in the upcoming Baywatch movie, Priyanka will spend 2017 helping Pantene promote its hair care products via her luscious mane. In the "strong is beautiful" campaign, Priyanka gives us every reason to want to know how she styles her glossy hair. Serious goals.

Keep reading to learn about exactly that, her body oil obsession, why she wears colored contacts for different roles, and more in our interview with her. Also, she called us from India (casual), so we had to ask all of her travel and jet-lag advice.

On What "Strong Is Beautiful" Means to Her

"What is most important to me about the slogan 'strong and beautiful' is that whenever we talk about women, the word strong is not associated with them unless it's [about being] emotionally strong. But strong is never looked at as beautiful and [associated with] the femininity of a woman. When she's strong, she can also be beautiful. That's such a new-age way of thinking, and I love that about Pantene. I'm a strong modern woman of today, I'd like to believe that. Every girl out there needs to be empowered enough to see that . . . from strength, she is beautiful."

What It Means to Be a Role Model

"I never walk out of my house thinking that I'm going to be a role model or that people look up to me. But the one thing I've always wished for girls around the world is to be able to have their own voices and to empower themselves enough to say, 'No one can stop me of my dreams, no one can tell me I'm not good enough, and no one can tell me I'm broken.' I've always advocated that, and some people have picked up on it from me. I'm really grateful."

Her Personal Hair Routine

"I swear by coconut oil. When I was a kid my grandmother used to insist on oiling my hair, braiding it, and letting it stay for a while so that the scalp could get as much nourishment as it needs. I used to hate her for it, because oily hair felt gross when I was young. Then I would shampoo and condition my hair.

Now I do it on my own, at least twice a month. You can put it in at night, and wash it out in the morning. Sometimes one hour before my shower, I put it on my head and wrap a hot towel around it so it really soaks into the scalp. It's really good for nourishing your scalp."

Her Hair-Washing Philosophy

"I like to wash my hair every day. I like the feeling of putting my hands through fresh hair. I couldn't do that with shampoos, usually. But with Pantene's new Smooth and Sleek, [I can]. I swear I'm not just trying to sound like a spokesperson anything. Pantene sent me products to try when we started our association together, and I'm very, very possessive of my hair. It's very important to me. It truly is my crown and glory. When I tried the shampoo, I loved that I didn't even use the conditioner to feel like my fingers would go right through my hair. And I have really thick hair! So it takes a lot for my hair to get thin. It also didn't dry out my hair. So that's my hair care routine: find the right shampoo and conditioner, and using and coconut oil."

The Role of Diet When It Comes to Hair and Skin

"It is obviously very important to have the right vitamins, especially for hair and nails. But no, with my profession and lifestyle, it's really hard for me to be on any sort of diet. What I try and do is to eat lots of greens and make sure I have lots of iron. I think that's very important for your skin and for your hair."

Tips For Managing Thick Hair

"When you get your hair layered, it's usually for a lot more volume. This is great, too, if you like big hair. You can have that va va voom blowout. These days I am really into straight hair for season two of Quantico. That's the protractor for Alex, like really straight and chic. I have a lot of [hair], so it still feels like a lot; but it's super shiny and healthy hair. Especially because I was saving New York on the show, I thought it would be a little fuss-free."

Getting "Tan" For Baywatch and Beach-Body Ready

"Uh, I'm naturally spray tanned. I just have to put on my SPF and run out. That's it. [For body care,] I like Bio Oil. That is a cheap product that anyone can pick up anywhere. I have dry skin, so I use Bio Oil for my skin at night. It is a little oily, but when you wake up, it really hydrates your skin and it makes your skin super even. I like to mix that up with moisturizers. I like using a lot of Jo Malone body butters."

How to Beat Jet Lag

"Well, now it's been about 12 to 14 years since I've kept a schedule that [involves] traveling around the world. Not just India! I'll go overnight in Germany or for dinner in Australia and come back. My trips are pretty ostentatious. I've found ways of doing this so I don't get jet lag at all anymore. You have to make sure that when you get on a really long flight that you keep according to the time of the country that you're going to land in. So when it's night in the country that you're going to land into, you should sleep. [To help you fall asleep], have a glass of wine, and go to bed!"

Her In-Flight Beauty Tips

"The first thing what I do when I get onto a plane is I change out of whatever I'm wearing. I moisturize my face, hands, and feet. Then I wear socks over my feet, so that the moisturizer really stays inside of my skin. Twenty minutes before I land, I usually try to do a hydrating face mask, because whenever I land, I usually walk into photographers. I try and use different kinds of masks, but I use SK-II a lot. You just leave it on your skin for 10 minutes or whatever works for you, then moisturize, and put your daily makeup on. Your skin feels really supple and looks really healthy when you walk off a plane."

On Wearing Colored Contacts

"I do do them, but I wear them usually for my characters. There's not much you can change about your face, right? So what I like to do is I change the color of my eyes for my movies or the thickness of my eyebrows, because I like my different characters to look different. Those are the tangible things that you can [change]. But I don't like wearing colored lenses that pop too much. I prefer to wear lenses that don't look like they're fake. They should work with your skin, like blue, violet, and gray lenses don't work on me at all. Otherwise, I don't mind experimenting with them."
