In 2016, the cosmetics industry exploded with new and improved color-correcting products in varying textures, shades, and even application methods. Now, it seems beauty enthusiasts have had some time to test out those many different products and hone in on their favorites — and they've now taken to Reddit to let others know. A Reddit thread created on Jan. 24 asked users to name their favorite (and least favorite) color correctors. The best part about the thread is that every user spoke frankly and honestly about their experiences with different products. After a few days, it became clear which color correctors were preferred among the respondents.

04
Giorgio Armani Beauty Master Corrector

Giorgio Armani Beauty Master Corrector

The product: Giorgio Armani Beauty Master Corrector ($40)

What a Reddit user said: "It's absurdly expensive at $40, for what seems like a tiny vial with a stupid applicator, but you use so little to get such a great correction out of it that it is worth every penny . . . I tried so many, and have even returned this one long ago because I just could not justify the cost to myself at the time — but ended up rebuying it more recently and really nothing else compares."

05
NYX Cosmetics HD Concealer Wand

NYX Cosmetics HD Concealer Wand

The product: NYX Cosmetics HD Concealer Wand in Green ($5)

What a Reddit user said: "It's stupidly pigmented so a bit the size if the tip of a needle (I swear to god) will cover a lot amazing coverage but extremely pigmented so you have to be so so careful."

06
Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Corrector Cream

Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Corrector Cream

The product: Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Corrector Cream ($7)

What a Reddit user said: "I really love the Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle corrector. I've never really seen it mentioned on here, which is shocking because it works so well! I believe it's a Korean brand and you can buy it on amazon for around $7. I have been using it every day for two years and am no where near panning it."

07
Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Prime Makeup

Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Prime Makeup

The product: Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Prime Makeup in Green ($7)

What a Reddit user said: "It's very lightly pigmented, so I find it's difficult to overdo it. You do need quite a bit to cover your entire face, but I don't find that an issue, as it's basically a moisturizer with a green tint. It sits well under makeup, and I find it helps my foundation look good on my dry skin here in the desert."

08
Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector

Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector

The product: Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector in Pistachio ($30)

What a Reddit user said: "I have the green jar and i love it! I made a decent dent in it pretty quick but its still lasting a long time. People criticize color correcting for adding yet another layer and making the face cakey but i feel like this blends nicely into the skin and does its job well enough that it allows me to use less coverage and therefore end up with a more natural base."

09
Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector

Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector

The product: Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector in Papaya ($30)

What a Reddit user said: "I have the backlit one in Papaya and it is SO pigmented. I have to use a brush and just put tiny dabs underneath my eye. The texture is pretty nice too — kind of tacky which is nice for my dry under eyes."

10
L'Oréal Studio Secrets Professional Color Correcting Primer

L'Oréal Studio Secrets Professional Color Correcting Primer

The product: L'Oréal Studio Secrets Professional Color Correcting Primer in Green ($13)

What a Reddit user said: "I have chronic, very red rosacea . . . I've been having issues with too much pigment with my current worst, so on a whim, bought this. I really like it — not heavy, more liquidy and great coverage."

11
Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer

The product: Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer in Peach ($37)

What a Reddit user said: "I have no plans to shut up about the Make Up For Ever color correcting primer. It's like wearing a translucent color filter. I feel like it's an excellent value too, since I only use 1 pinhead size drop under each eye daily. I don't use any other concealer. I have visible undereye veins and the color filter doesn't completely disguise it, but it does make it dramatically less noticeable. It doesn't require powder to set, and it doesn't LOOK like makeup at all since it's translucent on. It completely disappears and there's never a harsh edge you have to blend away."

12
Cover FX Correct Click Color Corrector

Cover FX Correct Click Color Corrector

The product: Cover FX Correct Click Color Corrector ($18)

What a Reddit user said: "Cover FX color corrector sticks are pretty good! I have the yellow one for my under eyes and I have been loving it."
