Doja Cat is really leaning into this new tattooed version of herself. Just a few short months after inconspicuously debuting her first two tattoos on the red carpet of the 2023 Grammy Awards, the "Vegas" singer has added a handful of other designs to her collection.
It was on Feb. 5, 2023, that Doja Cat tweeted, "got my first tattoos today," without offering any other details, but fans didn't get a good look at the ink on her arms until her second wardrobe change at the award show. The initial tattoo, done on her inner left bicep, depicted what appears to be a fine-line style devil holding a pitchfork. Beneath this mischievous creature, Doja Cat showed off a dainty spider tattoo on her forearm, executed in a similar style, but slightly bolder and more noticeable in its placement.
Just a month later in March, the star added a cow skull tattoo to her inner wrist. Showing the design off on her Instagram Stories, she tagged celebrity tattooist Dr. Woo as the artist responsible for the art. But that isn't the end of her tattoo escapades. In May, Doja Cat gave fans a look at her newest additions: a key, poem, and skeleton on her arm, and a massive bat skeleton that covers the entirety of her back.
Although the devil and spider imagery is believed by some to be representative of themes like protection and strength, Doja Cat has yet to comment on the specific meaning of her tattoos. The meaning behind the bat, on the other hand, was divulged in the carousel of images on Instagram. And that doesn't even cover her full collection.

While getting an addition to the portrait on her back, Doja Cat also got a hand tattoo from one of her go-to artists, Mr. K. The design features a sword piercing a single eyeball surrounded by smaller details like the numbers nine and five, interlocking circles, and dots.
Doja Cat's Bat Skeleton Back Tattoo With a Spider
On June 25, Doja Cat revealed an addition to the back tattoo that she got in May — a spider hanging on by a single piece of silk, done in a fine-line design.
Doja Cat's Assorted Arm Tattoos
On May 7, Doja Cat shared a few photo from her visit with Oscar Akermo, a tattooist in New York. In a session with the artist, she added designs of a half-person, half-bat skeleton and a key to her inner arm. She also got a phrase from Gretel And Hansel inked on her bicep that reads, "So, children, please, beware of gifts. Beware of those that offer them. And beware of those who are only too happy to take them."

On May 4, Doja Cat showed off her largest tattoo to date: a bat skeleton on her back by Mr. K. In her carousel of images showing off the ink, she also disclosed the meaning. "Bats often represent death in the sense of letting go of the old, and bringing in the new," read the significance.

Doja Cat has a tattoo of a deformed animal on her forearm. In an Instagram post, she explained the ink was inspired by the work of Fortunio Liceti, a philosopher from the 1600s whose work focused on deformities in nature.
