Alicia Keys Just Shut Down Her Haters in the Classiest Way Imaginable

While many felt inspired by Alicia Keys's makeup-free appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, it seems that not everyone felt that way. Sadly, some people felt personally upset or enraged by her decision to live her life without makeup, and they took to Twitter to express as much.

A quick search for Alicia Keys on Twitter will generally yield positive comments about her natural beauty, confidence, or relative bravery. There are, however, some comments that urge Alicia to put on makeup. One tweet stated, "I'm all for natural beauty but Alicia girl you not setting no trend with this no makeup sh*t."

Alicia has since shared a presumed response to all the backlash on her own Twitter, where she wrote, "Y'all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn't mean I'm anti-makeup. Do you!" Whether you feel completely confident barefaced or in full drag (or both!), Alicia joined the makeup-free movement to acknowledge that women should feel empowered to choose either look . . . and live free of judgment for their decision. The more hateful reactions just prove her point.

Look ahead for some of Twitter's contrasting reactions.
