SMG Says Freddie Prinze Jr.'s Health Condition Was "Greatly Exaggerated"

Freddie Prinze Jr. recently opened up about recovering from spinal surgery on Twitter, saying he was "learnin to walk again." Nearly two weeks later, his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, suggested he may have gone too far with his tweets in an interview with Us Weekly. "You mean 'learning how to walk'? I can't even," she reportedly said while laughing. "I'm not joking. Our mail woman — god bless her heart — was like, 'I prayed for you Freddie, and it worked, you're walking.' He's fine. He did have very serious surgery, there's no question, but his 'learning how to walk again' has been greatly exaggerated."

The actor first shared news about the operation with a joke on Twitter in late November. "Spine surgery this morning but now ur homie is ... Robo-Bro!" he wrote, introducing one of several nicknames he's come up with.

Freddie went on to post smiley snaps as he worked to recover. "Learnin to walk again is like learning jiu-jitsu - 1 technique at a time," he tweeted with a selfie showing his neck brace.

Long before Sarah Michelle commented on his condition, Freddie suggested the media's portrayal of his condition was blown out of proportion. He set the record straight around the time reports about his medical scare started trending on Facebook in late November. "Guys Im totally fine," he tweeted. "Recovering great. No need to get ur info from entertainment 'news' sources who have no clue. Trust your homie."

Later that day, the actor went into greater detail about his condition, tweeting, "Private medical info amigos. Lets say i had some disc issues that have been resolved. 'Nuff said friends."
